The Bardavon 1869 Opera House located at 35 Market Street in Poughkeepsie, New York takes you back to vintage era when local performance venues were the dazzling centerpieces of many towns. The owners of the theater were renovating the facility and wanted to bring it back to all of its glory, including the attention grabbing marquee in front of the building. With the help of Animated Lighting, they returned the Bardavon to the grand showplace it once was.
Beginning with the initial layout from the sign company, Animated Lighting worked with the designers to determine 96 independent lighting circuits were needed. While the different sign pieces were being fabricated, program sequences were developed and downloaded to a standard Animated Lighting Monster Brain configured to control six ELD-16 controllers.
Unlike the original sign, the 21st century sign had eight different lighting possibilities easily changed by turning a selector dial and pressing a button. If the Bardavon needs a show or effect for a unique occasion, we can supply it on an SD card that inserts into the controller.
