Animated Lighting Monster Brains have a USB port for connecting directly to your
computer. The first time you connect, chances are good your PC will ask
for a special driver. Don't panic. Disconnect the Monster Brain from the
computer and cancel the driver install.
Download the file below, create a directory on your computer. Now
connect your Monster Brain. When the computer asks for the serial driver
to be installed, choose you have the driver and point to the directory you
created. The first phase of the driver will be installed. The
computer will then ask to install the driver again. Say yes and point to
the same directory. When the installation is done you will be told of a
successful install.
Go to the computer Device Manager and check the USB COM ports. It will
tell you which port is being used to connect to the Monster Brain (typically
COM5:). Tell Animation Director or Maestro which communication port you
are using and you're good to go. Connect the Monster Brain and you're
communicating!
