There one thing you learn early when animating professional displays in public
venues: people live to trip over your wires. The bad news is you typically
need wires to get synchronizing data between the computer and the controllers.
The good news is Animated Lighting can do it wirelessly.
Animated Lighting stand-alone wireless transceivers can be set up in minutes to
virtually cut the cables between the computer and the controllers. The
flexibility and price allow users to quickly upgrade wired data cables to
cordless operation in industrial, commercial and residential applications.

Powered by a 1000mW 900MHz radio, each unit is small and easily portable for
use in mobile and temporary settings as well as for fixed installations.
Animated Lighting implements a proprietary communication protocol to provide
secure local data transmissions. Because it uses FHSS technology, the data
remains reliable over distances of up to 20 miles (32 km) line-of sight (900MHz
version) in perfect conditions. Use of license-free frequency bands ensures that
units are ready to use with no further certification requirements.
Animated Lighting's embedded transparent protocol simplifies the
integration process by allowing for seamless plug-and-play installation. As each
unit receives raw data, it manages over-the-air protocol to assure successful
communication. Headers, data packet length, and CRCs are not needed.
Broadcast communication to all devices or address packets to a specific
destination using unique MAC addresses is embedded in each unit.
Each industrial-grade radio enclosure
contains a robust 900MHz transceiver. Each Animated Lighting wireless
communication system requires a central server (transmitter) node and any number
of remote client (receiver) nodes that operate in point-to-point or
point-to-multipoint configurations.
Features and Benefits
Durable industrial-grade enclosure
Transmits around corners, through walls
Reliable communication up to 288 Kbps
Point-to-point & point-to-multipoint setups

Typical implementation is a wireless transmitter is connected to an Animated
Lighting Monster Brain or computer. A wireless receiver is connected to
one or more controllers. Multiple receivers can be used or one wireless
receiver can then be connected to an Animated Lighting controller and hard wired
to other controllers.
Animated Lighting's Lightning
transceiver is a Frequency-Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS) radio designed for
license-free operation in the 900MHz ISM band. Out-of-the box, the radio
sustains a standard asynchronous serial data stream between two or more radios.
Housed in a compact and rugged die-cast enclosure, the radio is equipped to
replace thousands of meters of serial cable with its wireless link. One
transmitter can send data to many receivers.
We also offer these radios in a weatherproof,
outdoor rated enclosure. (The experts say to get these devices as high as
possible for the best range)
