The Hard Rock Café in Las Vegas needed a new sign to go
above their store on the Las Vegas strip and they knew it couldn't be
anything ordinary. They contracted with Kojis Sign of Louisiana and
Kojis Sign called in Animated Lighting to add the WOW to the project.
Kojis Sign created CAD drawings and forwarded the
design to Animated Lighting to figure out the internal lighting and power
requirements. Next, Kojis created a Flash animation of the sign in
simulated operation and Animated Lighting created the custom programming
using Animation Director software to make the
real sign act exactly like the proposed animation.
Kojis used Animated Lighting’s DMX controllers to direct
the Xenon-BRIK-32 Strobe Controller that switched the pro-grade strobe
lights mounted at the top and bottom of each sign letter. Animated
Lighting DIO/Relay boards were used to sequence the horizontal LED strips
emulating old fashioned red neon. Animated Lighting four channel controllers
were used to switch the power
supplies for the real neon tubes that outline each letter.
The next time you are driving down the strip in
Las Vegas, you don’t need to look hard to find the Hard Rock Café because
it's right across the street from the huge CityCenter development. If you
can't make it to Las Vegas,

even more excitement to the strip.
