February 2009

Welcome to the February 2009 issue of THE LIGHTLINE, Animated Lighting's newsletter. .

Monster Brain PC

The Animated Lighting engineers were let out of the cages right before Christmas so they could spend quality time with their families during the holidays.  Seems Santa gave Matt one of those miniature notebook computers the industry now calls a netbook.  Matt then asked for a couple of weeks off at the beginning of January so he could explore a product idea.  Matt's pretty smart so Paul let him follow his idea.

A week later Matt sent everyone at Animated Lighting an email with a web address inviting all to watch his light display in real time.  We clicked and saw a real-time video stream of lights dancing to music on his house.  We let him know that was pretty cool.  Then he said everything was running off the little netbook Santa had left under the Christmas tree.  It included the light show, the music, the netbook built in webcam video we were watching plus, with a little geek magic, the ability to log into his netbook and take total control as if we were sitting right at the keyboard.  Amazing!  Matt had birthed a new Animated Lighting product.  For the last few weeks, all the other Animated Lighting techs and engineers have been beating up, tweaking and productizing what Matt has done.

We call it the Monster Brain PC.  You'll call it pretty clever. Think of it as our Monster Brain with lots of buttons so you can tweak your show in real time and have maximum versatility.  It's a dedicated netbook type computer preconfigured with just the right software so you can plug it into your existing Animated Lighting data network, turn it on and watch the show.  Unlike our standard Monster Brain, you can start and stop the show via the keyboard, change the show schedule times and even alter the order of the songs in the show.  The Monster Brain PC is a dedicated small computer just for your show.  The device can also be connected to the Internet to grab the latest information from Animated Lighting or allow Animated Lighting technicians to take control of your Monster Brain PC remotely and troubleshoot any problems you might have.

Find out more about the new Monster Brain PC at our website.  We're introducing it at $699.95 plus shipping and it includes the netbook, Animating Lighting software, five songs you pick from our extensive library, an interface to connect the Monster Brain PC directly to your existing light controllers and a 50 foot data cable.  That's a $300 savings compared to buying a standard Monster Brain, software and accessories.  If you want to bundle an ELC-16 light controller with the Monster Brain PC, it's an extra special value at $999.95.  Give us a call at 816-941-0400 and we'll make you a deal on a Monster Brain PC based on a Show In A Box package.
